We operate in full compliance with California Notary Public laws. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Not Legal Advice
We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice, legal interpretation, or recommendations. We cannot explain your documents or tell you how to complete them. If you need legal guidance, please consult a licensed attorney.

2. Notary Public Limitations (California Law)
California Notaries Public are prohibited from:
• Giving legal, immigration, or tax advice
• Choosing the type of notarization for a client
• Completing documents for clients
• Explaining or interpreting document contents
• Notarizing incomplete documents
• Notarizing without proper identification
• Proceeding if the signer is unwilling or unaware
Clients must understand their documents before the appointment.

3. Identification Requirements
All signers must present valid, unexpired, government‑issued photo identification. Acceptable IDs include:
• California Driver License or ID
• U.S. Passport
• Foreign Passport (with USCIS stamp)
• U.S. Military ID
• Inmate ID (for jail notary appointments)
Credible witnesses may be used only when permitted by California law.

4. No Guarantee of Acceptance
We do not guarantee that any notarized, translated, or apostilled document will be accepted by a third party, agency, or foreign government. Acceptance policies vary by organization and country.

5. Apostille Services Disclaimer
OwlGo™ does not issue apostilles. Only the California Secretary of State or the U.S. Department of State can issue apostilles. Your role is to review documents, notarize if required, submit to the correct agency, and track and return completed documents. Processing times and acceptance are determined by government agencies, not OwlGo™.

6. Certified Translation Disclaimer
Certified translations are completed by professional translators. We do not guarantee acceptance by USCIS, foreign governments, schools, or agencies, as requirements vary.

7. Loan Signing Agent Disclaimer
Loan signing agents are not permitted to:
• Explain loan terms
• Interpret interest rates
• Advise on loan documents
• Tell clients whether to sign
All loan‑related questions must be directed to your lender, escrow officer, or real estate professional.

8. Hospital & Care Facility Notary
A notarization cannot be completed if the signer lacks mental capacity, is heavily medicated or impaired, or is unwilling or unable to communicate consent. Capacity is determined at the time of signing.

9. Jail & Correctional Facility Notary
All jail notary appointments depend on facility rules, security procedures, staff availability, and inmate access. OwlGo™ is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by the facility.

10. Ink Fingerprinting Disclaimer
We provide ink fingerprinting services only. We do not guarantee background check results, agency acceptance, processing times, or approval or denial of applications. Clients are responsible for submitting fingerprint cards to the correct agency.

11. Travel Fees
Travel fees are separate from notarial fees and are charged for time, distance, and availability. Travel fees are due even if the notarization cannot be completed due to missing or invalid ID, incomplete documents, signer unwillingness, signer incapacity, or incorrect document type.

12. No Refunds After Services Are Rendered
Once a notarial act, apostille processing, translation coordination, or fingerprinting service has been completed, fees are non‑refundable.

13. Privacy & Confidentiality
All client information, documents, and identification are handled with strict confidentiality. We do not sell or share client information.
